Deep Moody Green

I have loved green my entire life, so I want to be honest with you: this is not a trend to me, it is a conviction. Moody, saturated, complex green as a base color is one of the most sophisticated choices you can make for a room, and it works because it grounds everything around it while still feeling alive. If you have been waiting for permission to go dark, consider this your permission. Stop waiting.

Textured Walls

Limewash and plaster finishes are having a moment, and I am genuinely here for it because texture on a wall does something paint simply cannot. It catches light differently at every hour of the day, and that movement makes a room feel layered and considered. My caution is this: one or two walls is the move. When you go all over, the effect loses its power and the room starts to feel like a set. Let one wall do the talking and let everything else breathe.

Sculptural Statement Lighting

I think of lighting as architecture, not decoration, and the right fixture is one of the highest-impact swaps you can make in any room without touching a single wall. A sculptural pendant or an unexpected chandelier changes the entire personality of a space because it draws the eye up and sets the tone before anything else registers. I love this direction completely because it is really just a design philosophy dressed up in a trend name. Creating spaces that support how you actually live, that hold your morning coffee ritual or your evening wind-down, is what good design has always been about. My only note is moderation. I am in Miami, and I do not want my space to look like a scene from Miami Vice. Intentionality is the goal, not theater.

Fringe and Decorative Texture

Texture has always been part of how I think about a room, so fringe and woven detail and decorative trim feel completely natural to me rather than surprising. These elements make a room feel rich and considered without requiring a significant investment. A fringed pillow, a woven throw, a trimmed lampshade: small moves, enormous return.

Warm Layered Neutrals

I am completely in love with linen and chunky knits right now, and the reason is simple: warm layered neutrals are the perfect counterpart to a moody base color. Cream linen against deep moody green, a chunky oatmeal throw against navy muted blue, that combination is everything. The warm neutral does not compete with the dark base, it completes it. That is the whole game, and once you see it you will not be able to unsee it.
