The Pick: Navy Floral Throw Pillow Cover

Why one strong patterned pillow can bring more character to a room than a pile of perfectly matched accessories.

There are rooms that need more, and there are rooms that simply need one thing with enough personality to wake everything else up.

That is what I like about this navy floral pillow. The deep background gives it weight, while the lighter botanical pattern keeps it from feeling heavy. It can sit on a neutral sofa, a bed, or a reading chair and immediately give the surrounding pieces more direction.

I think we sometimes underestimate what a single accent can do because we are so used to decorating in groups: three pillows, two vases, matching objects on either side. But one well-chosen pattern can often do more because it gives the eye somewhere to land.

The trick is choosing something that adds a new layer rather than simply repeating what is already there. A room with a lot of solids benefits from pattern. A pale room may benefit from something darker. A space that feels overly polished may need a floral or textile that softens it.

That is why this one is my pick. It is not trying to match the room. It is giving the room something it did not have before.

Design is more than decor. Color, pattern & scale can transform a space. I refine each design until the spark in my soul says yes.
